Incremental Serial Interface (ISI) Linear Transducers

ISI Interface Provides Users with a Universally Accepted Incremental Output with Absolute Encoder Data!

.

      What is ISI?

ISI is an encoder interface available on TR encoders that provides ABSOLUTE positioning data using standard A Quad B incremental encoder interface.

     How Does it Work?

This interface sends positioning changes to your controller as pulses, using a standard incremental channel (A/A- and B/B-). The absolute position of your system is maintained within the encoder and can be extracted by triggering the Load In/Load Out functions. No batteries required!

Forcing the Load input LOW will signal the encoder to stop producing pulses. Your device counter can now be reset to zero. Next Force the Load Input HIGH and the absolute position of the encoder is sent to your controller via the incremental pulse train. The encoder will cont up to the encoder absolute position.  When the absolute position is reached, it turns off the Load Output signal and the encoder returns to normal operation. ISI is a great solution for providing absolute position when only an incremental interface is available on the controller or drive and is a cost effective way to AVOID HAVING TO HOME your system.
